august = visitors galore! part 1

hello! the hiatus is over! now let's look in retrospect to the most recent happenings in e.i - there are so many that we must break it down into four separate parts! introducing part 1:

back in mid-august mike's family came to visit for the first time. the weather was cooperative and lots of beach time was had.

one of the many gorgeous sunrises on the beach, though just liss and shirley enjoyed watching mister sun as he awoke from his slumber...we had no other joining earlybirds among us that morning!

routine tour of the base aboard camp lejeune. mike is looking very official as he notes a point of interest

grace sporting mike's "cover" - this is military lingo for "hat"

the test subject! grace was a good sport about liss practicing her face painting skillz for a military volunteer event.

expedition to shackleford banks. it was a scorcher out; shirley drank all our water!

no wild spanish horsies were spotted this time but the water was perfect for taking a dip! here is a serene shot of some of the banks

heading back to the ferry after a nice outing

we took them to the bogue inlet pier - here is the high/low tide for that day!
